How to remove a background in Chrome

Install ClickCutout, open the extension and sign in with Google. Allow image access during setup, then use the right-click menu whenever you need a cutout.

Choose a ClickCutout action

Open ClickCutout in the menu and choose Copy or Download. The extension removes the background automatically.

Paste it or save the file

Paste the cutout into an editor that supports images, or find the saved file in your Downloads folder.

Why Chrome asks for image access

Images can be hosted on a different site from the page you’re viewing. This permission lets ClickCutout fetch the image you right-click. It does not scan pages or collect the other images you browse.

Where does the extension work?

ClickCutout is a Chrome extension for computers. Use it on normal web images that Chrome can access. Some sites protect their images or display them inside a canvas; those may need the site’s own image download option.

Do I need an account?

Sign in with Google from the extension after installing it. Your monthly image allowance and any extra credits are linked to that account.

Can I choose a white background?

Yes. Select JPEG in the extension and choose white, or another solid color. Choose PNG or WebP when you want a transparent background instead.

Can I upload photos from my computer here?

Background removal happens through the Chrome extension, using images on web pages. This website has the guides, plans and account settings; it does not have an upload editor.
